General Email Settings
|Mail account type||Use POP3. IMAP works but is not recommended.|
|Name||Enter your full name (e.g. John Smith).|
|E-mail Address||Enter your full e-mail address (e.g. email@example.com).|
|Incoming Mail Server|
|User Name||Use your full e-mail address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org).|
|Password||Use your mailbox password (this is different to your broadband password).|
|Leave a copy of messages on server||Please turn this off whenever possible, or set to less than 7 days (preferably 1 day).|
|Outgoing Mail Server|
|Authentication||Please enable SMTP authentication|
|User Name||Use same settings as incoming mail server.|
|Password||Use same settings as incoming mail server.|
One common problem is that you are able to receive, but not send e-mail. If so, this is because you need to enable SMTP authentication on your outgoing server.
Another is SSL. If you are setting up an email address ending in “@acenet.com.au”, you should select Yes to SSL options both incoming and outgoing servers. If you are setting up an email address for your own custom domain, you can either use the standard non-SSL setup, or contact us about purchasing an SSL certificate for your account.
If you have any trouble at all, please feel free to contact our support staff
Access cPanel Control Panel
You can access your cPanel by logging in with your provided cPanel username and password here: cpanel.acenet.com.au
From the Control Panel you can manage functions such as:
- Add and remove e-mail accounts
- Add and remove e-mail forwarders
- Upload and manage files
- Manage basic spam rules
- Manage DNS records
- And much more
Please see our email setup guide available here.
Note that SMTP Authentication for outgoing e-mail is required.
We do not recommend sending e-mail through third-party SMTP relays (such as mail.bigpond.com). Using port 587 in combination with SMTP Authentication will resolve most outgoing e-mail problems.
Webmail can be accessed by browsing to yourdomain.com.au/webmail
